My vision and values can be summed up in three words: Ethical, empathetic communications.
Andy Rooney once famously said ‘Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them’. These words have been a guiding light to my communication endeavours, both personal and professional.
PR is about telling the right story at the right time in the right way, and I believe every story deserves to be told with integrity and empathy. There are hardly any crisis in the world that could not have been avoided with a little integrity and empathy.
Organisational reputation, like individual reputation, takes years, even decades, to build. While it may not be as fragile to break with one ill-timed word or gesture, every crack undermines it. And more important, the internet never forgets.
But after all that chaos, when the dust settles, what remains is kindness.
Ethics and empathy are the foundation of any sustainable reputation building, including my own, for, ultimately, a little kindness goes a long way.
